Attending the seminar on the Global Observatory of Long-Term Care was particularly enlightening. The presentation underscored the critical role of data and technology in addressing the complex challenges of long-term care, a topic that resonates deeply with my studies. The observatory’s focus on global collaboration and data-driven policy development aligns with the principles of information management and systems integration we’ve explored in IS coursework. Simultaneously, the emphasis on long-term care policy and evaluation speaks directly to my studies in aging and social change, highlighting the societal impact of technological advancements. I was particularly intrigued by the potential for leveraging AI and machine learning to enhance predictive modeling and resource allocation in long-term care settings. This seminar has reinforced my understanding of how interdisciplinary approaches can drive innovation and improve outcomes in aging populations, and it has inspired me to explore further how technology can be harnessed to support social change in this vital area.
