International Seminar: “A Research Agenda for Digitalization and Population Ageing”

Today’s seminar on ‘The current state of digital transformation within higher education from a global perspective’ was incredibly pertinent to my field of study. The presentation, based on the 2nd Global Survey on Digital Transformation, offered a comprehensive view of how digital technologies are reshaping higher education worldwide. I found the global perspective particularly valuable, as it allowed me to contextualize the theories and concepts we’ve been studying in class within a broader, real-world framework. The seminar’s focus on digital innovation in academia aligns closely with my coursework on systems integration and digital strategy. I was especially intrigued by the implications of these transformations for curriculum design and the development of digital competencies in students. The colorful, dynamic visuals in the presentation effectively illustrated the multifaceted nature of digital transformation. Moving forward, I’m eager to explore how the insights from this seminar can inform my thesis research, particularly in areas related to the implementation of emerging technologies in educational settings. This seminar has reinforced my belief in the critical role that Information Systems professionals will play in shaping the future of higher education.
